International Clinical Fellowship in Ophthalmology & Oculoplastics
Since May 2012, Hereford's first International Clinical Fellow started training at the Victoria Eye Unit under the supervision of Mr Simon Madge. The Fellowship was taken to the next level when Mr Ben While joined the mentoring team. Comprehensive training in oculoplastic and lacrimal surgery, in addition to numerous research and audit opportunities, is on offer to suitable candidates, who are typically appointed through the Royal College of Ophthalmologists' Dual Sponsorship programme. Candidates with a keen and searching mind, who are already competent cataract surgeons, with an interest in oculoplastic surgery are encouraged to contact Mr Madge or Mr While directly. Fellowships are typically organised 12-18 months in advance in order to allow prospective Fellows the opportunity to organise their time in Hereford well. Since its inception, we have welcomed Fellows from Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland and Israel.
