Ptosis (droopy eyelid) surgery
A droopy eyelid (ptosis) is different to an excess of skin on the upper eyelids, although the two can coexist. If the eyelid height per se is good, then blepharoplasty surgery alone may suffice. If the eyelids are sitting low, then a satisfactory result will only be obtained by addressing the ptosis as well. Fortunately, ptosis surgery and blepharoplasty surgery are easily combined.
There are many different surgical techniques used for lifting eyelids, broadly divided into approaches from either the front or the back of the eyelid. Your surgeon will discuss the best options for you and your particular case.
